When the felt marks Andar first, Andar should carry the short price

Live Andar Bahar deals a house card, then alternates onto two sides until one side matches. The side that receives the first card wins a little more often than half the shoes. Even money on that side is a price the table does not pay. Under standard live pricing the first-card side is shaved, often near 0.9 to 1, and the second-card side pays even money. If the felt marks Andar as first, Andar is the side that should show the shorter price.

Standard live pricing shaves the opening side

The printed payout is the authority, not the habit. Some shoes reverse the first card and give it to Bahar, or they move the arrow between sessions. A player who always shaves Andar in their head will be on the wrong side of that cloth. Read the numbers next to both betting areas before the joker card is drawn. If both sides pay the same, the table is not using the standard haircut. If the shorter price sits on the second-card side, the mark and the price disagree, and that disagreement is the fact to write down.

Read the print, because some shoes flip the order

Side markets on the first few cards are a separate product with a wider margin. They do not correct a main-bet price that is posted backwards. For the main bet, confirm three things: which side the felt calls first, which side is paid short, and that those two answers match. Then bet the price you actually read. A session note that says Andar without the payout next to it cannot be checked later. The cashier will still settle whatever the felt paid, including a full even-money loss on a side you thought was shaved.
